How to keep your Weight Off – Tips!

 1. Five Servings

Five servings of fresh fruit and vegetables each day – this is a very important tip for preventing weight gain, because by filling up on healthy foods, it will leave you feeling full and not needing to eat that junk food which will make you gain weight.

 2. Just Dance!

One of the most effective and fun ways of burning calories is to dance! Enrolling in a dance class with your friends or even just dancing to your favorite CD or songs at home for at least half an hour a day will get your heart pumping and prevent weight gain.

3. Regular Small Meals

By eating five small meals a day instead of three larger ones, it will keep your metabolism rate up, therefore allowing you to have more energy and burn more calories.

4. Cut Out Soda

Studies have found that by cutting soda out of your diet, you’ll lose up to 20 pounds in 6 months! Soda is packed with calories and sugar, so better to swap them for something more pure and natural like water or herbal tea.

5. Keep Hydrated

Keeping hydrated is also important, because most of the time when you’re craving snacks, it’s your body’s way of telling you that really you’re just thirsty! A good idea is to always carry a water bottle with you so you won’t find yourself without regular hydration.

 6. Forget the Fast Food

By banning fast food you’re cutting out a lot of fat and unnecessary sugars and salts. Just think of all the weight gain you will prevent from saying no to fast food!

7. Drinks Have Calories Too

Another helpful and often forgotten tip is to always take into account the calories in your drinks too. For example, a mocha with whipped cream contains more calories than a cheeseburger – now that’s scary!

8. Avoid Baggy Clothes

By wearing clothes that fit snugly to your body, you will feel inclined to keep the weight off in order to continue to fit into your clothes. Avoid buying and wearing a lot of baggy clothes, otherwise it might trick you into forgetting about your diet and weight gain.

9. Cut Down on T.V Time

By cutting down on the time you spend in front of the T.V, you’ll have more time to do productive activities, such as going for a walk or run with your dog, best friend, or partner.

10. Sweet Snacks

There are a number of sweet snacks you can fill up on without running the risk of gaining weight. Some of these include: goji berries, avocado, grapefruit and almonds.

11. Learn Portion Sizes

Concentrate on portion sizes! A healthy portion of chicken breast should be no larger than a deck of cards! If you don’t make or take as much, you won’t eat it.

12. Avoid Junk Food Aisles

Prevent temptation! Avoid aisles in the supermarket that contain unhealthy snack foods such as chips and chocolate. If you don’t pass it, you won’t grab it!

13. Avoid Sugar-Free Drinks

Be careful with sugar-free soda. Artificial sweeteners will still make your body crave sugar, therefore tempting you to reach for the unhealthy and sugary snacks that will only increase weight gain. Opt for making your own natural fruit drinks instead.

14. Find a Role Model

To prevent weight gain, find a role model who will constantly inspire you to do your best. Athletes, trainers and people you know are a great source of inspiration.

What do you think?
